Unfinished animations of fights i tend too make proper-like when i have time/motivation/Flash
Basically what i did in...2 days?

I wanted to do this because I know I haven't been showing my potential at Uni, i've been scraping by, a few days ago i recieved a wake up call, since then i've been doing nothing but typing up scripts, drawing character designs and storyboarding

I'd love to do more of these, i have soooo many ideas for fights, Flash is being a yeasty codpiece so i can't do anymore since my trials ran out. I'm sucha fag for Kungfu films, i love it, looooooovvvvee it, it's kinda like my homage.

I understand that there are hardly any inbetweens and the animation is scattered, well, thats Dandy. It's fine, its meant to look and be a bit rubbish, i was literally farting out these fights straight from my head so it's a bit dirty looking but i think it gives it character.

I think if we were able to add music too our animation without that dirtyword copyright getting in the way, I'd probably choose this. I don't think it's got anything to do with my animation haha but it has a nice ambiant sound.

Basically, if you scroll down by a centimeter you'll see my face all stylized-like, it was an experiment i wanted to do, instead of drawing out the animation, i wanted to use use real people faces and do character designs around them.

IT SHOULD ANIMATE but it's being a boob. I saved it as a gif and achieved the talky part in ImageReady, i picked up the skill of basic frame by frame animation by overlaying each layer and pasting it in a frame. It sounds like odd tecno babble but it's easier when you do it first hand.

Anywho, setting the scene, the interview woul take place with me on the side and the two ladies i interviewed next to me.

So, seeing as my scanner is having an episode, i havent been updating my artwork in awhile, I've gone 3 or four different way's with my initial creation, I plan too:

Use Clip art animation (angela anaconda) (monty Pythons flying circus) (do it yourself Cartoon kit)

character designs without colour, 1.0 is a girl in full form, if i animated her she'd be a frame by frame animation. 2.0 is a spud head, kind of basic, no soul. As soon as i develop my characters i'd like to use this creation in order to make things a little easy for me, if so, i could probably add a 'sack' texture so it actually looks like a doll.

wasn't my initial idea, but the thought just came to me as i wrote this. It would give that stylized vibe im hoping to create, a city made out of fabric maybe?

Sort of like this, all fabricy. If i did this, my watercolour background idea would be down the toilet, if i did this idea i'd also interview a different person to who i was originally going to do.

Here's another experiment i did with photoshop, i used watercolour style paint brushes, outlined a picture of Leeloo and did the background with various colours and textures. I'd like to achieve this look in flash, with the peoples mouths moving.

Here's something I did in Photoshop CS5, basically what I want to do is have a moving water colour background , I used leeloo(The Fifth Element) as an example, now just imagine her animated. Same textured background would be added then I'd draw my own character designs on top.

I just noticed, to be an animator you have to be an observer, you have to take every little thing into detail, because i'm such an anal (behave) perfectionist I get a bit too consious on weather i've drawn something as perfect as i can make it... Someone needs to tell me to chill the fock out and just do it else I'll never get any work done.

My eyes scan the area of falmouth, noticing things i don't usually, plugged into my music i tend to drift in and out of the crowd with no regard for the sounds around me, so here's what i've seen so far:

1) The seagulls are fearless here, they will actually home in on your meal and swipe it from your hands. I heard a lol story about a guy who threw a 12 inch sausage in the air and the seagull just gobbled it hole, it deep throated a sausage in mid air.
If i could find that guy, i'd interview him for my project. which makes me wonder, can you turn seagulls into carnivors by feeding them sausages? I also have a fear of seagulls & any birds of pray that find it necissary to dump on my head.

I've recently been interested in Princessess out of their sterotypes, namely my recent picture i drew of cinderella who was a lap dancer with men offering her glass slippers, i wanted to show the contrast between our modern age and the fairytale age we have been subjected too.
. I also did alot of photography with a friend of mine dressed as a princess, drinking beer whilst holding a baby. She looked underage and her motivation was her prince charming had left her with a child and so she'd head to the pub to drink herself into a stooper.

Every week we've had a challenge of drawing different things from different topics, for me, music always inspires me weras if i look at a cup or a glove it takes awhile from my brain juices to flow out ideas. The two I've mostly been focusing on is drawing from a film & songs:

Films I watched as a kid that had a huge impact on my childhood
Growing up as a 90's kiddo it's hard to say what genre of film or cartoons i liked most. It didnt matter what i watched, as long as it had a cemented impact on my life i could take home with me. Herculeas, Jason and the argonaughts watevs.
i can go back and explore those good times, the bad thing is, these days I'm watching these films so much i'm sorta wearing out that feelin of warm fuzzies, like listenin to your fav song over and over it kinda leaves you a bit empty.
Anywho, these are just some of the films I'm into:
Fifth Element, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Enter the Dragon, Predator, Crouchin tiger hidden dragon, Austin Powers, Knocked up, NMBC, Bill and Ted, The godfather, Kill Bill (im gunna go watch that right now) Back to the future.

Let's start with this pic first. In my spare time i like to sketch whatever pops up in my head, it doesnt matter the reference. For me batman is one of my favourite super heroes. Why? I think it's cus of his limitations, his weaknesses are much more appealing to me than his strengths.

Woo! I enjoy coming up with poses, if their in my limit of possibility. I tend to limit myself alot, if i cant do it i get frustrated and stop :/

experimenting with weight, not all characters should be skinny with huge boobs, i wanna get mysellf out of that sterotype.

Seeing the world as black and white, in which choices seem clear, or shades of gray can affect people's path in life, from jobs and relationships to which political candidate they vote for, researchers say. People who often have conflicting feelings about situations—the shades-of-gray thinkers—have more of what psychologists call ambivalence, while those who tend toward unequivocal views have less ambivalence.
High ambivalence may be useful in some situations, and low ambivalence in others, researchers say. And although people don't fall neatly into one camp or the other, in general, individuals who tend toward ambivalence do so fairly consistently across different areas of their lives.
For decades psychologists largely ignored ambivalence because they didn't think it was meaningful. The way researchers studied attitudes—by asking participants where they fell on a scale ranging from positive to negative—also made it difficult to tease apart who held conflicting opinions from those who were neutral, according to Mark Zanna, a University of Waterloo professor who studies ambivalence. Catchy 90's kids shows

Ducktales Theme was one of the catchiest theme's growing up. You'd just have to yell DUCKTALES, and across the school yard someone would heckle AWOO OO!

Darkwing Duck Let's get Dangerous! Another one of my favs, i can't remember actually watching the show but this godamn epic theme tune always cemented in my head. The 90's brand really knew what they were doing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles what i loved about these intros is, not only did they have really catchy lyrics but it flowed with the animation too, each turtle had a 5 second introduction before jumping right back into the song. Cus of that we knew Leonardo's leads, Donatello does machines & in a weird way kids were able to easily relate to them, picking out the type they liked and branding them as their fav. By the mid 2000's a company descided to revamp the Turtles franchise gving it an edgy and modern look with more ninjitsu action and pizza chomping goodness. Unfortunantly the theme Sucked...really sucked, listen to the lyrics. TMNT theme how hard is it too keep a melody?

Now i'm all for ambience when itrelates to the subject matter, aka a dark and brooding show needs a dark and brooding theme tune.
There's only a few rare chases that this works, when you'r creating a certain atmosphere for your audience to be involved in, you have to have the right melody too ease them into the mood, case and point, i give you this theme song by warner bros, Enjoy!
Ill give you a hint, na na na na na NOSTALGIA! I listened to this song, 6 o lock at night (way past my bed time when i was 4-5-6 years old,) and i wet myself. Even at this age when i didn't know jack shizz about the world, i could still appreciate what good music was, what good animation was, Batman the Animated series will always be a fav of mine, mainly because Warnbros treated the audience maturly and said "look we're not going to tiptoe around issues, we're gunna have substance abuse, tommy guns & phycopaths and allya ya'll Over protective mothers can just suck on our nads!"

To this day warno bros, I salute you!

sometimes i think about how peoples destinys co-inside with another and what the future holds for them. Does fate work? or is it coinsidence, is it just coinsidence that we're on this earth? Not at all, maybe we're all just feeding the universe, or maybe life is all about getting by. Do you want to save the earth, change it, or just get by with a life and mortgage?

There's this one thing i really got interested in a few year back, It's Jungs Ennergram and Briggs Personality thingy. Ina nutshell you take a very vigourasly long test and at the end of it you find out what personality you have. I got the INFP which is Introverted, Intuitive, feeling, perceving.

I mainly got into it because It helps me flesh out characters whenever i'm writing stories or drawing characters, it helps me get to know them personally without doing the long task of figuring out what be good for this character and what wouldn't be. The Dreamer

I thought i'd find the time too write something now before i get distracted by the buzz of first year fresher funNANZZA.

A little intros good, I'm basically not afraid to say what's on my mind, within reason anyways, I also blab random crap and in a slurred insecure melody. I'm a daydreamer with alot of ideas but not enough energy to write them down. I love everything and i love to get educated if i don't. Make sence?

Music wise i'll to anything from Fatman scoop to Adam Ant, Kings of leon, The hoosiers, i dunno, just picking these up from the top of your head aren't you Maggie? Yes. But you get the idea, i'm a laid back kinda guy...Girl.

I'm really looking forward to the good and the bad of Falmouth, it's just a learning curve.
